Anyone who meets Mick soon discovers that fishing is more of an obsession than a passion. This has been the case since Mick began fishing at 5 years of age. Evidence of this was his regular 20km bike rides down to the creeks to catch Giant Gold Fish!! Mick's fishing experiences has progressed since then, and now covers both fresh and saltwater fishing.

Mick's captures includes Snapper, Gummy Sharks, Yellow Fin Tuna, Cod, Trout, Estuary Perch through to the humble Squid. Best of all, Mick enjoys sharing his knowledge and experiences with his customers and gains an enormous amount of satisfaction assisting them in their piscatorial pursuits.
Marilyn Miller - Fountain Gate Store Owner

Marilyn is the Granddaughter of a Pro-fishing family from Port Melbourne so it may be a generic trait that Marilyn enjoys fishing. It wasnít until she met Mick that this passion really showed through. Weekly fishing and camping trips to the Snowy mountains and Mitta-Mitta river spinning for trout knee deep in water wearing waders was a good start to freshwater fishing. From then on it was trolling in freshwater lakes for Macquarie perch ,Chinook salmon ,Murray cod and more grandpa trout.

Marilyn also enjoys fishing the Murray river, as it is lovely family spot to cast in a yabby or bardie grub from the bank and see what that might bring. Marilyn passion for fishing is not restricted to the freshwater, she also gets out on the saltwater scene with some impressive catches of yellow fin tuna, snapper and her personal favourite Gummies. Marilyn likes to share her stories and advice when asked -Do you fish? So, it comes as no surprise Mick and Marilynís daughters Stephanie and Kelianne also like to fish.
